walmart, super 8mm and modest mouse and Crushes
Crushes are like little moments with ourselves. our bodies warm, our minds twinkle, our dreams come alive playing out stories for no one but ourselves. My brain works in weird ways when it comes to crushes. I rememeber having crushing all the way back in first and second grade. I remember that feeling and it doesn't feel much different then it does now. I have always had crushes. Some of my crushes last minutes, some hours, some are nothing more then a second that I share with someone on the street. I can have 90 crushes at a time and I can be faithful to all of them. My crushes can be about beautry, about talent, about an laugh, about the way someway flips there hair or wears a shirt, all messing.
Most days I can enter a room and find someone to crush on. My mind likes it. It is not that I love my girlfriend less or even that I want to be with that person. It is mostly about that spark that allows a fire to start and these little stories are played out for me....
on a side not this little blog on myspace cause a little fight between my girlfriend and me... go figure. SO I will repeat I love my girlfriend and have most of my crushes on her..... I had a big crush on her before we went out... It was because of this crush that we started going out.... that and walmart, super 8mm and modest mouse... but that is another story...

My childhood
Today I went back to my childhood for a few hours it was quite a adventure, full of half memories and remembered thoughts. Simple joys are not always easy to come by, they often get lost in the big picture, deadlines and finish lines can get in the way. I took the day off today, God even got one day off. I would like more. Life can just keep moving, faster then the earth spins in its orbit, faster then I forget to say please and thank you, faster then I lose trust in the universe after every pit full and every new trouble that brews.
A cat decide to stop in the middle of the road today, it just stared at me for a moment. It stopped a object many times its size and it felt powerful ,it was so calm, no need to fear.
Sometimes a good cup of a coffee or a big warm hug is all we need to remember how lucky we are to be here.
It is not every day that we challenge ourselves to try a little harder or not to give up, but taking on something that is new and foreign and scary as shit is a great way to trick the brain out of patterns.
I always have big plans for my self, always have things for myself to do, I just never do them. When do we stop making excuse for we bad things happen to us and just figure out the lesson without the pain. Every time we pray for a green garden a brighter day or a bigger paycheck we forget the reason things are being laid out in the first place.
I decided this week to quit trader joes, I saw the exit sign at the end of the tunnel and I was getting push out. I was fighting it, saying just a couple more days and then I will live. But I just kept walking in the same place just getting more and more upset. Maybe we have to build up enough emotional power for a change to take place. It is scary how you have to really do nothing for the universe to push you forward.
I applied at New seasons today and it felt good. Sometimes the things that scare us most are the things that feel the best to do. Sometimes it is just enough to let go. It let it just happen the way it wants to.... I had all that baggage from trader joes and I let it out and am okay with moving on, now working is not as bad......
anyway this is getting long and I tend to ramble in circles...... I really like that piece you send even if it is from someone else. I think Mom and Me and you should write are own version of it and get other to also. It would make a nice little book. Sometimes when you let it all out you find out things about yourself that you never knew.....

Buzznet????
I was searching on the web for my cloud project and found this website that seems to be like Flickr.com, I am checking it out right now
Here is the web address
www.buzznet.com
I guess i have a web page now
www.holycleo.buzznet.com
okay so I uploaded a pic from my Flickr page to this Buzznet page.... as of now I think this site is point less if you have a flickr page.... It seems like a blog/myspace/photo site. It is slow and not as flashy and easy to use as Flickr.
oh here is my flickr website for comparison

Wikipedia???
I just started a research project on Clouds. I decided use you advice and check out Wikipedia and see how helpful it is.
I typed in Clouds in the search bar and a few article of info came up including pics. which is very nice. There are also different variouses on the topic like "color of clouds" etc. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clouds )
at the bottom of the page there were links to different websites that were to be helpful.
One of them was old because nothing popped up..... the other worked and sent me to a very nice website called http://www.chitambo.com/clouds/
The site had great pics. plus enough basic info to keep me reading for a while.
I also wanted to find info about the current weather patterns of Los Angeles and the unique rainfall that has hit cali this year. It was hard to think up differnt phases to type in to google,( Wikipedia didn't really work.) (THis has always been a problem with search engine, either you have to many on related stuff or the phases to find the great stuff is hard to think of.)
I typed in Los Angeles + clouds and I got weather pages but no real info
the same happened when i put in Rain+ Los Angeles + 2005
* I was just looking on Flickr pages for pics of clouds and found a bunch of great ones including several groups that post cloud pic.... also i was just searching random tags and found this great pics here is one of them

Day two of Research
I returned today to do more research and i am finding it just as hard as the last time. I am finding a lot of websites with the same info but not much that go indepth on the subject like a book might. I decided to actually go in to the lib. and look what I could find.... I had a hard time finding anything when I typed in Clouds, but thinking with my little brain I decided to try a more broad term like Weather and it worked. I found one book that seem to help but it is from 1966 so that not a perfect source. So I am going to google weather and Los Angeles and see what I find.
Okay that didn't work. So I tried Climate and Los Angeles which was better. I found charts with data on Weather for each month.
In a seperate search I looked up simply " Cloud types". I found some good sites here. On had a Power Point lession on Clouds which was very help full.

What have I've learned in this class??????
Oh boy, the joy of learning.... what have I learned in this class. I found out that there is a lot going on the internet then i know....
side note: did you know that the father of PR is the nephew of Sigmund Freud.... okay that has nothing to do with internet but i think that a lot of PR tech. are really the driving force of today's internet. I mean Myspace is really not all that great, but if you tell people that every one else is doing it then it gets them at the gut level and they need a myspace page and then they tell everyone else how cool he is and blah blah blah etc. Next thing you know he is on the cover of time mag. for the most witty blogger on the net.
I have always considered myself pretty internet savy but when i enter this class I relieved I have missed a lot. Some for good, I mean If I have one more person tell me they are depressed because so and so did become their friend on friendster or myspace I going to go crazy. But things like Flickr. and Wiki (which I need to look up more) and the internet archive these are great useful things..... Also I getting prettty gitty about Google Movie theatre (at least that is what i am callign it) that is going to change Hollywood for the good or bad. To be able to upload a whole movie and let people pay for it or to do it for free is amazing to me..... THis is going to drive the bigwigs crazy and might lower the prices in theatre. I would rather watch a movie in a theatre over my computer screen but if it could lower the price and cause some of the more stupid shit out, Then i am all for it.
I am also very big on Pay Pals even though the scare of theif is high right now.... I think for the worse we will become more like numbers and less unquie but there is give and take..... As we can talk and share more over the computer we become less relient on touch and closeness Or we can come to cherish those times more.....
So what Have i learned in class, the internet is just beginning to do what it can do...... I both love and hate it, but most times love over comes all....
thanks for a fun class.

Blog in school......
So now I can search the net during class... Now I can write to another student in Russia about Film history or about the state of toe fungus ... so what write.
Well I think this is a great thing... why go sit in a class staring at a teacher who has repeated the same leature over and over and over until it doen't mean anything anymore. Why wouldn't it be better to have a blog that you could log in and have group classes, upload assignments and ask questions in real time..... I know personally contact is always better and lost a lot in all of this whole internet world, but come on some of these basic classes are so big anyway. I would rather be able to do work on my own at my own pace without have stupid people ask dumb question just because they were not listen in the first place... plus then I could go back and reread the leature and get more in depth with it.
Okay so if that is a big step then maybe it could at least be part of class. Make the class be bi monthly. One week it blog and work time and the other week it is in class stuff. That would definaly work better in a enviroment like cal arts. It is supposed to be all about the art here. But as a undergrad it feels like sometimes I am so bogged down by the busy work that is given in the CS class..... It probably would help with skipping.
So anyway I think that it is great that teacher are starting blog..... I think teaching is going to expand to many different forms that are only going to benifit students....
Long live the blog!!!!!!!!!!
I found this on Village Voice's website link http://www.villagevoice.com/arts/0515,edsuppdayal,62903,12.html

Flickr days later
I enjoying flickr, I like the community aspect and the groups. there is a sense of pride in seeing how many people are looking at your image. My head was really big when some one put one of my pics on their favorites.
It also interesting how I think Images more then words can help you get to know some one or let you think you know someone..... the voyourisic quality of that is a little freaky but then again we know that people are looking........ It is going to be interesting is a few years or months when there starts to become flickr stars..... or Flickr is helping people become famous......... right now i check my flickr page every couple of days.......maybe some day it will be every day.

Flickr and the wonder of the Jpeg
Flickr is one of my new wastes of time. Why do we need so much stuff to fill us up.? I don't know but i like the my chocolate with lots of 1's and 0's...............did that make sense, anyway. you wanted me to talk about flickr..... first off the article was from the Villiage Voice.com sorry, I was in a hurry and just want to save it before i forgot.
Anyway so i just starting using Flickr last week or so and I'm enjoying it very much. I alreally join a group "polaroid" and post about 25 pics up on line.
I have found it crazy that it takes forever to upload but that is a small prize to pay. Also I will say I have already looked up the tags "Nude" or "boobs" but what do you expect. I didn't actually expect what i got. One women had over 900 pics of her in differnet poses. Very strange.
Anyway Yahoo, probably just want to be buy it before google did. So i think it will be left alone until google get snapshot.com or soomething like that.
Plug into flickr....... yeah......

flickr is now owned by Yahoo!
Site SpecificPic Your FriendsPhenomology, folksonomy, and the reification of personal experience made fun, easy, and social
by Julian DibbellMarch 24th, 2005 6:52 PM
A frozen moment, about to proliferateimage: flickr.comTime was, when some drunk guy in a bar challenged you to elucidate the relationship of photographic technology and the reification of personal experience under the conditions of 21st-century global capitalism, gosh, you couldn't even get started without plowing through a stack of books by Walter Benjamin, Susan Sontag, and assorted other pointy-heads. Nowadays you just tell him to go take a look at flickr.com, the classy little photo-sharing site all the bloggerati are uploading their visuals to. Or better yet, you whip out your camera phone, snap a shot of the guy, key in a caption, e-mail it to your Flickr account, and tell him to go take a look in a few hours, after friends and strangers from around the world have marked up the image with comments on his haircut, his waist size, and the phenomenology of digital media.
Flickr didn't invent online picture sharing, of course, but it was the first such site to recognize itself as much more than a hosting service for personal photo albums. Tricked out with features inspired by the latest fashions in online-software design—post-Friendster social-networking tools, "folksonomy”-friendly image-tagging code—Flickr turned enough industry heads to win itself a $35 million buyout from Yahoo, announced last week. Flickr has also won a devoted following of users hungry to explore the possibilities its Web-centric toolset opens up. It's a place not just for self-display, but for an emergent visual conversation: One popular thread consists entirely, and with a certain random elegance, of pizzas, manholes, coins, and other circular objects centered squarely in the frame. The "Iraq" tag joins snapshots of anti-war protests and Baghdad patrols in a piquant mix. The frozen moment proliferates here, as it has done increasingly since photography was invented, but never before has its social life been such a party.

The computer is getting everyone in trouble....
Every day there is some type of news concerning the new ethics of cyberspace. That could be a class all together. A group of student just got in trouble for logging in to the admissions files of a college to see if they got in. Even they did they are not now.... weird weird weird. I mean the children of today. Back in my day if we wanted to steal something we us a lock pick. These damn kids are so lazy. get off you ass if you are going to cause trouble.
Rosie O'donald has a Blog. Has the whole ended while i was sleeping.
Okay it is proabably not the end of the world, I mean I kinda like her show and she is good in a few movies. Much better then say Roseanne. Is it good or bad that everyone can blog? Well god only knows right. Some needs to edit the blog and pull out the good stuff. or maybe not, that could get tricky.

How a Blog can eat my Words.
i wonder at the state of the creative world when the machine is used to record every thoughts that roll around in our heads. Journals used to be the tool to muse or amuse one self with. Journals were personal tools that were very private and only released after the death of that person. The person in question had to be, of some high status or no one would care. How many John Doe's do you know whose journal has been released in hardback or paperback even? I only know of one such case, and that is Anne Frank. I guess there are probably more but not at the rate that are coming out now. But i can go get Anne Frank journals, her thoughts can be in my hands, I can flip through it. I can hold it close or very far away. I can store it away for 50 years and read it again, but what if i type up my accounts of the world and then my computer blows. Fuck right. Nothing. anyway this is just the beginning of a bigger thoughts I have.
Hunter S. Thompson Kills himself.
Is it the only act left for him to do. To exit life in a way that was not meant to be. What could of been on his mind when he pulled the trigger? For Fuck Sake Man! Why?
I remember reading Fear and Loathing in High School. I remember being obessed with every thing Hunter S. Thompson. SO many google searches later and so many days in used book stores help me understand that I was not the only one that found his so interesting. I guess part of it is the rebel in all of us enjoying his nasty contempt for anything normal or any laws what so ever. the other part has to do with the drugs. As a teenagers drugs lit. is big, because you know very little about that kind of life and it so fun to read about the crazy things that happen from the safety of you bedroom. Fuck man
He will be missed.

The victim has been indenitifed as Ivan Staggerson,24, a web designer and part-time ebay auctioneer. Staggerson, also ran a popular blog site and was known across the web.
Police were wrapping up this biazzre death when not more then two hours later they were called to the scene of a second death, that of another Caucasian male. This man was also found with his computer mouse wrap around his neck, but was believe to have died for a bullet wound to the head. Police had first beleive that this also was a murder until a sucide note was found. The note was not written on paper, but on the blog site of Staggerson. The male known to friends as Tech was born Derek Douglas. Douglas, also 24. He lived in the attic of his parents, Barbara and Ray Douglas. "He was unemployed and spent most of his day on the net" friend of the family say. The Douglas' had heard the gun shot early Friday morning and called the police, believing their was a shooting down the street. Policet found nothing until another call reported hearing the shot from the Douglas' house.
The police entered the attic to find Derek face down on his desk, dead. The computer had been destroyed and the room was a mess. Police were flooded with emails and phone calls stating that the note was on Staggerson's site. The note has now been take down from the site, but sources say it included key evidence to the murder and to the possible motive.
Even though the note was taken down on the original blog site, the note and it contents are generating numerous hits across the blog world. David Laypeck, of Wire Magazine believes this is the first in what could be a string of blog related violence and deaths. "This is only news to Americans, in Japan and Europe, this kind of thing is happen daily. Blogs are not just a Fad, there are becoming a institution."
Just this week more people have lost their jobs due to comments made on personal blogs. In Japan, there is a real problem with people using the internet or blogs to plan group suicide. In Germany last year a man was arrested after killing and eating a man that he found over the internet.
Laypeck believes "This Tech was not just a random psycho, he had a big time blog site and so did the murder victim. It is rumored that the murder might have been over the non use of spell check. Tech was really adamant about Bloggers taking themselves seriously. He was known to send blog sites two to three page rants about the little things.... He was not very liked in the blog world."
Police have not connected the two deaths but have placed Tech as their lead suspect. Police are asking all who might have visited the blogs in the past week to contact them with any info that might help understand what happened.

The Internet: When Porn was free.
My mom thinks I am a genius when it comes to computers. While I know computer at a good knowledge level, genius is not even close. Why then would she think so highly of me. Mostly because I can copy and paste and make a cd or find something easiler on the internet. This basic knowlegde is still lose to a good amount of people.
They say that you learn the best when we are young. I been attached to a computer for most of my life. So yes, I have learn the common language, am I fluant in computer talk?
NO.
Can I find the bathroom, if I need one?
YES.
Do you remember the green screen apples?
I do. My school had a room full of them. We had math classes where we played Oregon Trail and a game where you are a fish. Then I got in the TAG class, a group of students whom were told that they were talented or worthy of extra schooling. That was fun. We learn about math and how to do basic computer programming, making houses and stars. The computer was just another toy. Then came the Nintendo and Sega. Everyone had one, so every one was getting training.

This is my first week.
I am sitting in class right now,
trying to listen to the teacher but also wanting to write something on this page.
My teeth are very much buzzing in a line of pain.
The teacher of this class i have to take to grad. is explaining want the heck a blog is.
Do you know what a blog is? Do you? Tell me little children, tell me.
Blog Blog Blog
The only words that have been invented in the last couple of years have been words about the internet, words about techs stuff. They usally have a e or I or some one letter preface. In earlier days words were controled by the upper classes. But now we are seeing word coming from all parts of society. Who controls language, has the most power over the common person. An it is not only words of grammanic forms, but often these words deniey these forms altogether.
